November 16, 2016

Reston, VA — The Radiology Leadership Institute® (RLI) is accepting nominations for its 2017 Leadership Luminary Award, an honorary designation given to outstanding radiology professionals to celebrate lifetime achievements embodying leadership and innovation. Nomination forms must be submitted online by Feb. 17, 2017.

“The RLI proudly recognizes exceptional leaders who have advanced the science or practice of diagnostic radiology or radiation oncology. These exceptional individuals will be remembered for both their actions and enduring legacy,” said Frank J. Lexa, MD, MBA, RLI chief medical officer and chair of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Commission on Leadership and Practice Development. “Individuals are encouraged to submit nominations for those who meet the requirements for the prestigious annual RLI Leadership Luminary Award,” he added.

All professionals (physicians and non-physicians) in the field of radiology are eligible. Candidates must demonstrate an unusually high level of leadership and have exhibited the following qualities: visionary leadership, motivation/inspirational leadership, integrity, responsibility, generativity and creativity—as well as contributing to the radiology community through professional and leadership achievements.

The RLI, the ACR professional development and leadership program, will recognize award recipients at the RLI Leadership Summit Sept. 7–10, 2017, at Babson College in Wellesley, MA. Previous distinguished honorees of the program, which began in 2012, include E. Stephen Amis Jr., MD, FACR; Glendon G. Cox, MD; Leonard Berlin, MD, FACR; Bruce J. Hillman, MD, FACR; Sarah S.
