The session will cover the various types of non-physician providers, some history of the various roles development, and how they impact Radiology.  We will discuss how the credentialing process, and what the implications of the various state rules have on recruitment.  We will also discuss how the role of advanced practice providers have been used at a major academic institution and some pearls from that experience.  

Learning Objectives

At the end of the session participants will be able to:
  • Identify non-physician providers (NPPs) in Radiology
  • Discuss billing concerns that will impact a Radiology practice that uses NPPs
  • Discuss the cost benefits of having NPPs in your practice
  • Identify potential roles that the NPPs can play with in your practice
